A Year in Review
A YEAR IN REVIEW
By Keith Denoncourt
Brody Teale, Dave Booth, and the entire Team from Dave Booth Taxidermy, have been a very active part of my Outdoor Education classes for many years. It is through their professional Taxidermy artwork, and dedication to wildlife perfection, that has allowed me to convey several wildlife concepts. This has already impacted several hundred students. It is not surprising that Brody and I would continue working together, now that I am retired from full time Teaching. This time it is with the larger audience of Non Typical Nation. It is very hard to believe that the first year of Content Creation with Non Typical Nation has already gone by.
Wow ! Looking back, it has been roughly one year since I started creating content with Non Typical Nation. It has been a blink of time. So many great adventures with absolutely amazing footage coming up in 2026 on Wild TV. I truly do not know where to start when I say how cool of a year it has been with Non Typical Nation. Other than to say that I am very proud of the content that Brody, Amy and I created. I eagerly look forward to creating more extremely cool content in 2026. Here are some of my personal highlights from 2025 ! Thank you to everyone who helped make these adventures World Class experiences come to life !!!
As always, stay safe in the great outdoors, and thank you for respecting wildlife by supporting a Non-Profit Conservation organization ! If I can ever be of some assistance in helping bring one of our adventures to life for you, do not hesitate to send me an email at

My joining NTN started with a bang. Not days after Brody asked if I wanted to help with some of the content creation for Non Typical Nation, he was by my side helping me out with a very respectable Northern Alberta Whitetail. I was ever so grateful that he introduced me to the Electric Portable Winch. It made an almost impossible solo retrieval for myself, one of the easiest most efficient retrievals that I have been part of.
Brody and I both strongly believe in providing accurate, scientifically based information, to our youth. This is one of Brody’s Taxidermy displays at last years Edmonton Sportsman show. It is a privilege for me to stand behind the professionalism of Dave Booth Taxidermy, and actively share the science behind the harvests.
This was my very first Outdoor Media project from a couple years ago. It was with Kevin McNeil from Canadian Wildlife Adventures. I would not be where I am today, if Kevin and Patti would have not given me my first shot. Their initial support will not be forgotten.
Although I did not make it quite up to the main lodge this year, I did play a supporting role with Brody and Kevin and Canadian Wildlife Adventures. Their episodes will air in 2026.
When I joined POMAC, I felt very honored to be part of an organization that stands for Outdoor Media professionalism. I have a lot to learn, but the sincerity and accuracy behind any of my representations will always be my foundation. I am very Blessed to have an abundance of Professionals that I easily call my Mentors as well as my friends. Thank you for your support.
Working with Reconeco Trail Cameras was very cool. It saved me several man hours in travel to help us locate and specifically target the larger Bears.
Brody Teale puts a lot of practice, patience, and dedication in to his harvests. When he told me that he had let an arrow fly at “Mr. Big” with his APA bow, I was more than glad to come and help out.
Perfect practice is the foundation of all hunting sports. It is our personal code of conduct to be diligent in our pursuit of accuracy. I am very new at learning the science behind the firearm sport. Stretching my personal limits of accuracy at distances was a very cool learning experience. I appreciate the firearm professionals, that I rely on, who willingly share their knowledge. The pursuit of legal, humane and ethical hunting harvests is our premier goal.
Although I have Guided for Black Bear before, and have historically done some Black bear film work, this was my first personal bear harvest in over 30 years. It was used for food, medicine, lard and winter clothes. There is a lot more to this adventure than can ever be shared through an article. Just saying a special thank you to Brody, Dave Booth Taxidermy, and for all of those special friends who helped make this happen.
Bobby Hart is an amazing man. Meeting him in Edmonton, then spending time with him at his home in Pennsylvania was truly an wonderfully memorable experience. His dedication to Firearm accuracy at longer distances was truly incredible to experience ! The fact that he is genuinely a very kind hearted soul mad the experience even more rewarding.
Bringing dreams to life is something that I truly love to do. Helping make the arrangements for Amy and Brody to go to South Africa for their first time was pretty cool. Basso Safaris did an amazing job helping Brody get in to bow range for this amazing Sable. Wow !! I am very much looking forward to when these South African episodes air on Wild TV. We are already planned for our return in 2026.
This Gemsbock was harvested by Amy Teale. I can not express enough how much I value having Amy as part of this team. She has a true heart for Nature, a Respect for Wildlife, and it was a privilege being part of this harvest. Boris and his entire team at Basso Safaris were absolutely amazing in bringing this adventure to life.
Whenever I get the opportunity, I like to share some wildlife outdoor skills for the newer hunters. Being a past Outdoor Education and Conservation Instructor, I value making these resources readily available. Never hesitate to give me an email at kadenoncourt@gmail.com if I can ever be of some assistance. If I do not have the best answer, I will refer you to someone who does.
Connecting people to our food source, while protecting the wildlife and the environment, is another one of our unwritten tenants. This is a recipe given to me by my good friend Grant P. It is Ruffed Grouse BBQ Chicken burger. Wherever, and whenever, possible we will share the Culture, Food, and Traditions of the places that we visit, as well as the activities in which we participate in.
Safety is a the absolute foundation of everything we do. This is a mechanical spring at an industrial site. Whenever possible, we will bring you the safety guidelines to help enrich your outdoor experience. In some cases, we will provide real life examples of hazards, with the associated safety precautions.
This year, the Team from Non Typical Nation, and Basso Safaris, through support behind Cory Heft and Ray McKay of Hoggin Alberta. They represent an organization that supports Canadian War Veterans. Together we raffled off a filmed South African Safaris tour with Basso Safaris. This will be filmed in 2026.
